BurdaStyle Round Neck Blouse

I was looking for a cute winter shirts and came across the BurdaStyle Round Neck Blouse. It was finished with ribbing on the sleeves and base of the shirt, which I thought was a really nice way to make it look stylish but casual. Almost the perfect shirt to wear to work on casual Friday!

Pattern Information

Pattern: BurdaStyle Round Neck Blouse

Fabric used: Polyester/Rayon and ribbing.

What did you like about this pattern?

This blouse was definitely easy to sew and took only an hour to complete. I printed out the pattern and made the full length blouse. It turned out to be a very cute, loose fitting blouse that you can wear comfortably with jeans.

This pattern works amazing in soft and or see/through fabrics so I recommend trying a few different versions. This is the perfect shirt for Queensland winters where it doesn’t actually get that cold!

What pattern alterations did you make?

After fitting it, I realised that the sleeves and bottom were both a little too long for what I was after. Therefore, I cut about 10cm off both lengths.

If you’re new to sewing the BurdaStyle pattern and instructions might be a bit confusing. There was a piece #5 that I had no idea how and where to fit into the design so I completely ignored that part. It’s a very basic pattern but the instructions certainly let it down. If you’re confident with construction you shouldn’t have any issues. The pattern could have possibly formed part of another Burdastyle pattern, which they often do.

Would you recommend this pattern to others?

This is a great pattern to add some nice wintery shirts to your wardrobe. Plus, it’s a really quick, easy make. Even though BurdaStyle patterns aren’t that great to follow this pattern was quite easy given the small amount of pattern pieces.
