By Hand London Georgia Dress

The By Hand London patterns are so beautiful and I’ve always wanted to test out sewing their patterns. My first purchase to this Indy brand was the Georgia dress after getting a huge amount of inspiration of other blogger sewers.

Pattern Information

Pattern: By Hand London – Georgia Dress
Description: The Georgia Dress is a super sexy knockout dress with fitted cups and a panelled skirt that hugs the waist and skims the hips. Variations include a choice of slinky shoulder straps or a wider, nautical style faux collar. Keep it demure with a knee length skirt, or show off those pins with the mini!
Fabric used: Black cotton sateen and snake sequin material.

What did you like about this pattern?

This was my first version making this dress and I wanted to get a bit creative with an include my snake skin sequin material. This version is probably not one I would wear out every weekend and maybe just keep for special occasions out on the town.

This pattern is really simple, quick and easy to follow. The reason why I loved this pattern so much was because of Neeno’s versions from Sew Me Love. She has made so many versions which you can see on Pattern Review that shows you how easy it is to style one patterns in a number of ways.

Did you make any alterations to the pattern?

For this version as it was my first attempt I didn’t make any alterations to the pattern. The pattern also includes another style top which I think would be nice to make in a floral cotton sateen fabric, so that one is on my sewing list.

Would you recommend this pattern to others?

By Hand London is an Indie style pattern company so the price of each pattern is a bit more expensive that those you’ll get a Spotlight on a mass sale. However, it’s nice to brand out every now and then and get a few of these unique downloadable patterns. They also have a really great skirt pattern that I’ve been wanting to purchase called the Charlotte Skirt.
