Vogue 1300 Slip Dress

If you’re looking for a pretty simple dress this Vogue 1300 is perfect. It’s very basic with very minimal pattern pieces but still includes the front flounce to give it some really nice detail. It also comes with a slip so it allows you to be able to play around with fabric types and even sheer fabrics for the main dress.

Pattern Information

Description: Misses Dress and Slip: Loose-fitting, pullover dress has back neck slit, button/self loops, binding, side pockets, stitched hems, flounce and cap sleeves.
Pattern: Vogue 1300 Dress
Material: Polyester

What did you like about this pattern?

The pattern itself was really great but I do feel like I made this dress a size too large so it’s a bit more baggy than I would have liked. However, it was still very quick and easy to stitch up and perfect for that summer throw on dress.

I made this dress with a Polyester type fabric as it was already in my stash. However, I would suggest try out lighter fabrics such as Linen, Rayon or even a sheer fabric and then include the slip underneath.

What pattern alterations did you make?

I didn’t make any alterations to this version of the dress. It probably needed to be sized down a little as it was a little bit too baggy.

Would you recommend this pattern to others?

Yes, this is a great pattern for beginner sewers. It certainly was a quick, easy make while having a few sewing techniques to learn, such as finishing off the flounce with a rolled hem.
