BurdaStyle Lame Skirt and Tie Front Blouse

These two creations are possibly from being obsessed with BurdaStyle outfits and wanting to create as many as I can. This combination of BurdaStyle skirt and top made a great addition as a work wear outfit.

What did you like about this pattern?

This is a complete BurdaStyle outfit. The shirt I made a few years ago however the fit has always been a bit large and I’m yet to go back a sew a smaller version. I absolutely loved the pattern though and it’s really comfortable and quick to throw on with pants or skirts and makes the perfect addition to my work or casual wardrobe.

The skirt I immediately loved and it looked so good in gold on the BurdaStyle website. I made this version with some really thick, jeans type material that I found in the curtain section. I wanted something nice and thick for winter so this worked really well.

Did you make any alteration to the pattern?

The only change I made to pattern was making the bow length smaller in size. As you can see from the Burdastyle picture it’s quite large and would probably get in the way a lot.

Would you recommend this pattern to others?

These patterns were both really easy and quick to sew up. They would be great for beginner sewers, and I know because these were some of the first BurdaStyle patterns that I tackled.
